Janice Kinder has earned a reputation for excellence in providing skilled and practical guidance as a workplace coach, educator, and facilitator.  Prior to (and occasionally since) starting her own consulting firm in 1990, Janice has held middle and senior management positions overseeing strategic planning, business development, marketing and public affairs. 

    Her first consulting business, Kinder & Associates, was a full service marketing and strategic planning firm. Her company is now known as Workplaces Can Work. Through leadership coaching, facilitation and education, she helps organizations achieve goals and improve performance.  Although her specific areas of expertise include health care and human services, non-profits of all sizes, public charter schools, education innovation organizations, and professional services, Janice’s expertise in systems and relationship coaching have been brought to bear in a wide range of business environments.

     Janice is an accomplished public speaker, presenter, educator and writer in the field of business and leadership development.   She is a published business columnist and has served as adjunct faculty for a number of training and education organizations.

     A former English teacher and instructor in adult basic education, English as a second language, and adult literacy, Janice holds a bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College and attended graduate school at the University of Rhode Island. A graduate of the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology’s Graduate Certification in Executive Coaching program, she is also specifically trained in Organization & Relationship Systems Coaching.

     Janice devotes volunteer time to a number of social issues such as mental health, public education, and prevention of domestic violence. She has served on a number of boards of directors for non-profits and charter public schools.  She makes her home on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
