We hired Janice Kinder to assist us with a board development process.  She facilitated a series of staff coaching sessions and board retreats. Throughout, she maintained buy-in with a diverse group of board members. Her professional but informal manner set them at ease and established credibility, not an easy task with a set of often hard-boiled and skeptical commercial fishermen. She never used jargon and was quick to pick up the important aspects of their lives. She has excellent listening skills and is adept at eliciting useful feedback from her clients. Her strategic recommendations were well reasoned, resulting in positive outcomes for the organization.  She also mediated interpersonal issues between two staffers with great skill, helping what had appeared an intractable situation. In facilitating the board retreats, she consistently elicited and supported the abilities of the group to take action and move forward. She is truly a  "learning organization" practitioner who enables the wisdom inherent in the participants, rather than imposing her own "expert" opinion.  I found her a consummate professional -  timely, following through on deliverables, providing us with excellent documentation and a pleasure to work with.   ~ Melissa Roberts Weidman, former Director of Communications, Cape Cod Commercial Hook Fishermen's Association, Chatham, MA

Our organization engaged Janice Kinder to facilitate a series of meetings to discuss processes and structures to build our internal capacity to grow with quality.  ATI also engaged Janice to provide executive coaching, as well as strategic counsel.  We hire Janice with confidence in her ability to provide the highest quality meeting facilitation with value added throughout the process as well as advice on implementation. That’s exactly what we received.  Based on that process our organization has managed 500% growth with increased quality during the past two years. ATI had also engaged Janice several times in the past to facilitate board and staff retreats and to consult on establishing governance systems and practices.  External to my organization, I also observed her facilitate strategic planning for the Massachusetts Charter School Association, where I am a board member. She knows her business and serves her clients well.  Janice’s philosophy in facilitating is to serve the group. She facilitates with a level of ethics, intelligence, commitment and tenacity that is rare in the consulting world. My organization engaged Janice as an executive coach to help me deal with various aspects of my management style and personnel interactions. Although my initial reaction was one of skepticism, my thoughts after our last session had done a complete turnaround. Janice used multiple techniques and interventions to help me increase self-awareness, to understand how I was perceved by others, become a more engaged listener, and get more comfortable and confident in my leadership role. Best of all, she helped me improve my skills while not losing the "real me." Janice is kind, professional and fostered an excellent working partnership, helping me to grow in my capacity. Coaching sessions were incredibly eye-opening. My time with Janice flew by all too quickly, but the lessons learned have helped me succeed in the short and long term. I cannot say enough positive things about Janice Kinder as a leadership coach. ~ Pam Cardaci, RN, BSRA, former Senior Director, Utilization Management, Fallon Community Health Plan

Accomplishing sustainable educational change is not easy. Given the time constraints we faced, I was not sure it was possible.  That was before the arrival of Janice Kinder! Janice facilitated the process of our conversion to a Horace Mann Charter with incredible energy and skill.  She worked with our school community to develop an inclusive and consensus-based planning process that resulted in ownership, buy-in, and passion. Her belief in process, and the attention given to help us accomplish the task of submitting a Charter Application have been nothing less than outstanding. Without her skills as a facilitator, we would still be struggling with establishing our mission and laying the groundwork.  The fact that we have not failed to complete a meeting agenda as planned is evidence of her ability as a facilitator to keep the end goal in mind while intuitively addressing our members’ needs.
~ Susanne Leary, former principal, Cotuit/Marstons Mills Elementary School Cape Cod, MA
